Exciting welterweights battle it out on the main card of AKA 58.
American Kombat Alliance is back in Bossier City, LA with a stellar card from top to bottom. The main event features a veteran vs. prospect matchup between Micheal “Murder” Murphy and 28-year-old finisher Dey McIntosh.
Former BKFC fighter Michael Manno, who began his pro career under the AKA banner years ago, returns to the promotion against the 5-2 Brennan McKisick. Manno fights out of Shreveport, LA.
McKisick has wins both as a MMA fighter and a kickboxer, coming off a kickboxing win over Contender Series alum Malik Lewis last month.
Round 1:
Manno goes for a level change a minute in but McKisick sees it coming, getting underhooks in the clinch, pressing Manno towards the cage. They break. McKisick works behind his jab and lands some leg kicks. McKisick fires a knee to the body. McKisick continues to press forward, keeping Manno on the back foot.
Manno fires a counter right hand. The fight is paused due to an eye poke from McKisick. Fight continues. Double jab lands for McKisick before the end of the round.
Round 2:
Low kick lands for McKisick. McKisick lands a double jab. Another jab for McKisick lands. McKisick connects on some punches and continues to work behind his jab and low leg kicks. Manno eats a heavy leg kick from McKisick. Jab lands for Manno with three minutes to go in the round.
McKisick lands the jab and fires multiple leg kicks. Manno lands a punch to the body. McKisick keeps up the activity with punches and leg kicks. Punch to the body lands for McKisick. The fighters enter the clinch with McKisick pressing Manno against the cage with a little more than a minute to go. McKisick fires an elbow as they separate.
Right hand lands on the guard of Manno. Bell sounds for round 3.
Round 3:
The fighters touch gloves at the beginning of the final round. McKisick works behind the jab and lands a clean hook to the body. McKisick turns up the pressure on the feet, stalking Manno with strikes. They clinch a little more than a minute in with McKisick once again pressing Manno to the cage. Knee to the body lands for McKisick.
They break with less than three minutes to go. A massive welt is visible behind the left ear of Manno. Jab lands for McKisick, who presses forward on the feet. Leg kick lands for the more active McKisick. McKisick goes for a teep kick to the body.
Punch to the body lands for Manno, who eats a few punches from McKisick in return. Right hand lands for McKisick. McKisick fires a kick to the body. McKisick lands a good 1-2. McKisick goes for a spinning back kick that misses. McKisick points to the ground, taunting Manno to trade just seconds before the round ends.
