Micheal “The Hero” Murphy delivered a decisive main-event finish at AKA 56, stopping veteran Kyron “Mamba” Bowen with damaging leg kicks in the opening round at Southland Casino Hotel.
Murphy repeatedly attacked Bowen’s lead leg during the early exchanges. The accumulation of kicks quickly affected Bowen’s ability to move, plant, and defend himself.
At 1:44 of Round 1, the fight was stopped and Murphy was awarded the technical-knockout victory.
The result improved Murphy’s professional MMA record to 10-9-1, giving him a winning record for the first time at this stage of his career. It also continued a successful run for Murphy under the American Kombat Alliance banner across multiple combat-sports formats.
Before returning to MMA against Bowen, Murphy had competed in bare-knuckle bouts for AKA. He faced David Bosnick in a welterweight bare-knuckle contest at AKA 44 before meeting Blake LaCaze for the AKA Middleweight Bare-Knuckle Boxing Championship at AKA 50.
His performance against Bowen showed that Murphy’s recent bare-knuckle experience had not limited the development of his complete striking arsenal. Rather than relying exclusively on punches, Murphy used one of MMA’s most effective weapons to dismantle the base of an experienced opponent.
Bowen entered AKA 56 with more than 20 professional MMA appearances and experience against high-level competition. Stopping a veteran of that caliber in less than two minutes represented a major statement for Murphy.
The main event headlined AKA’s Arkansas debut on July 25, 2026, at Southland Casino Hotel in West Memphis.
With another victory secured and his professional record now above .500, “The Hero” has positioned himself for another significant matchup inside the AKA cage.
