Jacob Clarkson continued building momentum at AKA 55, earning a unanimous-decision victory over Gunnar Moskau in their amateur light heavyweight matchup at Barksdale Air Force Base.
Clarkson entered the contest with a 2-1-1 amateur record and weighed in at 207.2 pounds. Across the cage stood Moskau, a 2-2 amateur with previous championship-level experience inside the AKA cage.
The matchup presented Clarkson with an important test against an opponent who had already faced several proven competitors on the regional scene. Clarkson responded with a controlled and complete performance.
Over three rounds, Clarkson consistently produced the more effective work and did enough in every phase of the fight to earn the approval of all three judges. The unanimous-decision victory improved his amateur record to 3-1-1.
The result showed Clarkson’s continued development as a light heavyweight prospect. Rather than relying on one dramatic moment, he maintained his composure, followed his game plan, and accumulated enough meaningful offense to separate himself on the scorecards.
Clarkson’s victory also came in one of the most memorable settings in AKA history. AKA 55 was held inside a packed aircraft hangar at Barksdale Air Force Base on July 4, giving the fighters an opportunity to compete in front of military personnel, their families, and a large regional crowd.
With three victories, one loss, and one draw through his first five amateur appearances, Clarkson is establishing himself as a developing name to follow in the AKA light heavyweight division.
